WMTC 2025
– Australia Team Training & Bangkok Finals 

Welcome to the WMTC 2025 (World Mathematics Team Championship) information page.
This page provides an overview of the Australian team’s training program, selection process, and travel arrangements for the global finals in Bangkok, Thailand.

1. About the Competition

The World Mathematics Team Championship (WMTC) is an international mathematics competition that emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking.
Each team consists of six students, and the contest includes Individual, Relay, and Team rounds.

Since 2018, the Australian Competition and Assessment Centre (ACAC) has been the official organization representing Australia at WMTC, consistently achieving excellent results with students from across the country.

 

2. Training Program Overview

The WMTC 2025 team training is divided into two key phases:

  • Students must complete all 10 lessons (each approximately 3 hours).

  • Lessons focus on advanced mathematics, critical thinking, teamwork, and competition simulation.

  • Training Venue: UWIN Education, Chatswood NSW.

3. Coaching Team

  • Led by Mr. Luke Li, Head Coach of ACAC and founder of Smart Dragon Academy, who has over 10 years of Olympiad training experience and has mentored multiple AMC gold medallists and national team members.

  • Supported by instructors from the University of Sydney and the NSW Maths Olympiad Committee, all with PhD qualifications and extensive experience in Olympiad mathematics.

4. Team Selection

Students who complete the training will be considered for selection into the Australian national team for the WMTC Finals.

Selection Criteria:

  • In-class assessments and mock competition performance

  • Homework completion and learning engagement

  • Teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills

5. Bangkok Finals

  • Date: December 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed by the host committee)

  • Location: Bangkok, Thailand

  • Events: Individual, Relay, and Team rounds

  • Supervision: ACAC coaches and representatives will accompany the Australian teams for the full duration of the competition.

6. Attendance & Online Participation

  • Students are required to complete all 10 lessons to remain eligible for team selection.
